Twilight Switch TS-41-4 – Smart Lighting and Sign Control 230V

The TS-41-4 twilight switch is a reliable device designed for automatic activation and deactivation of electrical loads (e.g. street lights, building illumination, advertising boards, LED signs) depending on ambient light intensity. It operates within a logarithmic range of 1–1000 lx, switching ON at dusk and OFF at dawn (or vice versa).

Applications of TS-41-4

Perfect for:

  • street and outdoor lighting control,

  • building and façade lighting,

  • LED advertisements and signage,

  • external 230V automation systems,

  • industrial and commercial lighting setups.

Construction and Components

Set includes:

  • TS-41 Controller – made of flame-retardant ABS (V0), DIN rail mount (35 mm, 1 module 18 mm),

  • External Sensor (IP65) – non-flammable ABS housing with a 5 mm rubber grommet on the rear wall for cable entry.

The sensor can be mounted on a wall or vertical surface with two included screws.
The cable connecting the controller and sensor can reach up to 1000 m (2 × 0.5 mm²).

Key Features and Advantages

  • Adjustment range: 1–1000 lx (logarithmic)

    • 1–10 lx – energy-saving mode,

    • 10–100 lx – standard mode,

    • 100–1000 lx – for bright-light control applications.

  • Switching capacity: 16 A (4000 W) 250 V AC / 16 A (384 W) 24 V DC

  • Inrush current resistance: up to 100 A

  • Galvanically isolated NO/NC relay contacts – flexible wiring configuration

  • Proportional hysteresis – prevents flickering under variable light

  • Activation delay (~60 s) – avoids false triggers (e.g. headlights, lightning)

  • LED Indicators:

    • green – power presence,

    • red (flashing) – light threshold exceeded,

    • blue – relay state (1–2 / 2–3).

Installation and Use

  • Controller mounted on DIN rail 35 mm,

  • External sensor mounted on a wall (two screws included),

  • Recommended orientation: east or southeast, for earlier dawn deactivation and energy savings,

  • Avoid direct exposure of the sensor to artificial light to prevent flickering or cycling.

Safety

The TS-41-4 twilight switch must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Ensure appropriate circuit protection and adherence to electrical safety regulations.
